KCC 1st XI were the architects of their own downfall on Saturday, as dropped catches and poor batting allowed Kilkenny to take all 30 points in a replay of last seasons Steve Dixon Memorial Cup semi final.

After a disappointing fielding display, something the 1st XI usually pride themselves on, this defeat brought them back down to earth after the early season success in the last few weeks.

With the Tony Pullinger 20/20 game at home to 1st division Charlbury on Tuesday, they will face a much different challenge against higher league opposition and unfamiliar format, although will look to bounce straight back to winning ways!
