About KCC
Kidlington Cricket Club are located directly north of the city of Oxford on the A41. The club's ground Stratfield Brake has two cricket pitches which support Kidlington’s four senior league teams as well as youth Teams at under 11, under 13, under 15 and under 17 level.
The facilities - virtually new - are considered by many to be the best available in the county, and were completed at a cost of £1.8 Million. They have already staged junior representative cricket. A two lane practise net with artificial matting laid on a shail base with shock pads is located alongside the pavilion, and a Club Surfaces artificial wicket has been laid on the second cricket square.
The pavilion boasts extensive changing facilities on the ground floor, and has a function room complete with bar, kitchen and members’ balcony at 1st floor level, the latter offering panoramic views across the well-manicured sportsgrounds.
Recent history
The club played in the Cherwell Cricket League until the end of the 2008 season. After a season of successful rebuilding in 2009, the club has rejoined the Oxfordshire Cricket Association (OCA) league for 2010, with the 1st XI in Division 7, and the 2nd XI in Division 9. The club will also field a 3rd XI in friendly fixtures.
